Here’s Exactly How to Get Your Life Together
“Step by step. Day by day.”
Have you been feeling like your life is all over the place? If yes, honestly you are not the only one. Problems are just everywhere, from not being able to pay the bill to have constant issues with fellow human beings. Not to mention that we have to deal with our mental health, that sometimes, could be unstable. Confused on what to do, we often jump into a loop. This loop unconsciously creates our victim mentality.
The good news is that in order to get out of the loop, we only have one simple task which is: to get our life together. Yep I know, it sounds intimidating at first but remembers, the first time is always the hardest! Just try this for a week and see how you feel. If you do what I write on this post, I believe that by the end of the week, you can feel that your life is starting to go in the right direction. So my friend here’s exactly how to get your life together.
#1 Journal
Grab a journal and start writing down what makes your life all over the place. Let it be your annoying roommate, or your job that you hate, or anything. Write down what you feel has been weighing you down. Sometimes we feel like something is wrong in our life but we can’t really figure it out why. Writing it down will help you to understand and see what is the main cause of your problem. Once you have written it down, it is easier to track it. See what options do you have to change this, and don’t say you don’t have choices. We always have choices, is only whether or not we want to open our eyes and choose to see it. Start changing the thing you don’t like about your life. Remember the beginning is always the hardest.
#2 Self-Help Book
Go to a book store and grab at least one self-help book. Honestly, this has saved my life many years ago. There are literally many self-help books that I guarantee will help you to get your life together. There are many books I would recommend, but from start you can get ‘You are a Badass’, ‘Light is the New Black’, ‘The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck’, ‘The Four Agreement’, and of course, ‘Get Your Sh*t Together’. If you feel like reading is not for you then get the audio book and listen to it. If you don’t have time reading the whole book, just read one or two chapters. You need to start somewhere, and I’m telling you, this is the start I promise will work.
#3 Pinterest Board
Honestly, this one is very simple, and yet, is very powerful. Pinterest board is full of inspirations that will keep you motivated. I’m telling you this because Pinterest board has helped me to keep motivated, even when I’m lazy. The only thing you need to do is scroll the app, and you will see many visual inspirations. Yep, it is visual, so it does not require much energy for us to view the pins. If you are not familiar with Pinterest, you can just download the app on the apple store/google store, and sign up using your email. From there, I am sure you can figure it out as the step is very simple. But don’t worry if not, you can read my other post on how to use Pinterest for inspiration!
#4 Disconnect
This one is my favorite, even though normal human beings would not agree with me. Disconnect means turn off your phone, social media, PC, devices, and everything else. I know it’s crazy! But you should give it a try for at least one hour and see what it does to you. Often, we are too occupied with all of the things around us that we get stressed. This stressed is not only from the work that we have to do but also from the pressure that we get from other people. Disconnecting means that we are able to think clearly without interference from outside — and this could be very powerful in getting your life together.
#5 Little Adventure
If you can, go on a little adventure. I’m not saying you should travel to Santorini, swim in nice bikinis, and drinking coconut water from a proper coconut tree. I mean, if you can just jump on a plane to travel the world then why not. But I know for many people (including me) this would be one of those things that required planning. So what I’m saying by little adventure is go somewhere near you (less than an hour journey) that could give you inspiration. For instance, if you live half an hour drive from a mountain then go to the mountain, maybe it’s time for you to learn how to climb a mountain! Or if you live one hour away from a castle then go visit the castle, maybe you will find out that you are the reincarnation of the previous queen, this will give you spirit to take back your power! There are many little adventures we can go around us, like strawberry picking, go to a nice park, go to the zoo, ride a roller coaster, etc etc. Do this and it will remind yourself that it’s okay to have fun and to laugh. This will make you feel less under pressure about life.
